NEWSLETTER NO 10

March Newsletter

Members + Residents of “Felpham Fields”,

INTRO: As I write this Newsletter it is reported that as a nation, we now have over 20Million people vaccinated, what an amazing achievement. We should all applaud the efforts of all of those involved in the massive task and be thankful to everyone  helping to make these times safer for all to experience.

That said….. Felpham Village was in the news this weekend following Media attention which suggested a sharp increase in numbers of people contracting COVID in the village. I cannot confirm what has been stated by the members of the Media, nor do I wish to subscribe to claims (right or wrong) that we are a COVID hotspot. What is clear is that we must NOT take our foot off the peddle and relax  our efforts in keeping this rotten virus away! We have a clearer plan on how it is proposed to get us out of lockdown and back to a sense of normality, along with the aggressive Vaccination programme which is fundamental to the success of the plan. It does however  still mean that we must remember the social distancing and general COVID Precaution protocols to stop the transmission of the virus, we are so close to getting this Virus behind us! Don’t relax your efforts now!

COMMS: We now have the Web Site www.felphamfields.co.uk  fully up and running. I would like to thank all of you that have contacted me with you views and suggestions for improvement. Some ideas we are looking to implement over the coming weeks, so I urge Members to view the site and use the facilities it now has. We now have a dedicated Felpham Fields Forum. This member’s group is a private group that you can only be invited to once you have registered. So

members can Register via https://felphamfields.co.uk/register/ to obtain access to view and post on the forum; there might be some delay between when you register and when you can see something in the group, the delay will be down to me ☺. Some members have already posted some very interesting articles and have started sharing experiences which will appeal to some and benefit our community.  The Web Site will be an important asset to us all going forward and provide a wealth of documentation and information as well as an important means of communication.   Check it out now on www.felphamfields.co.uk

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING “Felpham Fields” Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled to take place on Monday 29th March. It cannot take place as a face to face meeting. Our Articles of Association state…..

“At least once a year the council shall lay before members of the company in a general meeting an income and expenditure account for the period since the last preceding account, a balance sheet and a council report. Copies of such account, balance sheet and reports shall be sent to every member of the company.”

In addition an (re) election of Officers shall be conducted. For our first AGM we shall be conducting the election (Voting) and agreement of accounts (Voting) for those with access via a dedicated link on our Web Site and for others via hard copy paper.

Information packs will be sent out to all prior to the AGM on 29th March showing how to access the web site page in order to vote  along with the necessary paperwork including our accounts and forecast expenditure for the coming year and the Management Fees we will be raising invoices for.

We would much rather have everyone meet together, as was planned, to discuss the incredible progress we have made since June 2020, but sadly in these unprecedented times we have  to deliver our promises to you all in special ways. Please keep an eye out for separate AGM correspondence (reports etc) in due course.

Stay fit and well,

Your “Felpham Fields” Council.
