2021 June Newsletter

Members + Residents of “Felpham Fields”,

Intro: As I write the England football team are preparing for a Euros 2020 Quarter Final match against The Ukraine  having beaten Germany (at last ). So those that follow the football can celebrate (for now) on reaching the Quarter Finals of the competition!! Although its too early to contemplate the team going any further forward ( given the countries past performances on major competitions) we have to remain confident. However we still remain under restrictions but it does look more likely that 19th July could see us all released from the current restrictions or at least that they will be relaxed somewhat.

SIGNAGE PROJECT:- The working party to provide the new Road Signs that will form the demarcation of “Felpham Fields”, show “No Through Road” (Tryndel Way and Duncton Close) and “20 MPH speed limits” have started work on positioning and sourcing the materials and we hope to be able to report in more detail the plans that are being formulated and the timescales for completion of the works soon.

END OF LOCKDOWN SOCIAL EVENT:- Plans are still on hold to progress with the event as it is still  dependent upon the general relaxation on the Government guidelines. So the offers of help from the many Volunteers we have had to make something happen will need to stand down just for now; when we can pin down a day for the event we will of course let everyone know.

Felpham Fields AED “Defibrillator”:- An idea has been raised to your Felpham Fields  Council  concerning the idea of obtaining an AED  (Defibrillator) which would be available to all that might need to call on it in an emergency. It is an expensive item of equipment to procure, but your Felpham Fields  Council  are keen to investigate further with a view to obtaining one,  if anyone knows of any grants or charitable means of obtaining one for general use to the public and Felpham Fields residents, and would like to offer help in obtaining one then please get in touch with our Secretary Keith.

Communications: The Web Site www.felphamfields.co.uk is fully up and running. Can I thank those that use the web site as a means of communicating, particularly when requiring Permissions for Licences, it really helps me co-ordinate and record applications and Grant Permissions and Authorities for the work requests but  please remember that authority in writing must be  obtained before any works takes place, If anyone is in doubt or unsure if permission to do work is necessary then give Keith our Secretary a call on 01243 829439.
