  • by

Your Committee hope you are all fit and well and enjoying the Easter break and a warm welcome to our new Members who have joined Felpham Fields since the last Newsletter, we hope you settle in and get to know everyone quickly.

Some information to update you all on in this edition:-

“Felpham Fields” Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The first reminder for you to put the date of our Annual General Meeting in your Calendars!!

Date for next AGM 2026 will be held on Monday 22nd June,

7-00pm – 8-30pm,

Felpham Memorial Village Hall.

Formal Paperwork to be associated with the meeting will come out in advance much nearer the date but for now please just make a note of the date and time.

Volunteer help (still) Needed:-

Thank you to those that have come forward to volunteer help with a number of projects. Our first maintenance task of this year will be the clearance of two more road drains in Ley road plus as part of our “Back to Grass” initiative the landscaping of the verges outside number 30 & 41 Ley Road. We are always looking for more help so if you would like to put your name forward and be included in these tasks, then please contact Keith Cowley 18 Ley Road. Jobs include the tasks outlined which only involve an hour or so here and there. Any offer of help would be really appreciated as we ramp up plans for the spring and summer. Your committee really appreciate you coming forward as it shows that we all take pride in the upkeep of “Felpham Fields”.

Felpham Fields Estate Traffic Control (Phase 1):- Ley Road new Signage.

We will be once again closing Ley Road to NON RESIDENTIAL TRAFFIC -Thursday 23rd April, the closure will coincide with the Verge and Drain Works that will be conducted during the day, the closure adding additional safety for the volunteers working. The Road Closures are now particularly focussed on the early morning and mid afternoon “Rat Run” School Traffic which seems to make up the majority of Non residential traffic passing through Ley Road.

Gutter & Verge Maintenance:-

A small working party will look to clear another two estate drains in Ley Road as mentioned along with tidying two verges in Ley Road.

Please note this activity is in line with our principles to assist drainage and maintain aesthetics on the Estate and where and when the opportunity arises through a change of property ownership or the existing resident wants to clear existing shrubs, all verge plants and shrubs will be removed and the verge returned to solely grass, either by seed or Turf which will be funded by the Estate. If any existing owner would like to discuss clearance of their verge then please do not hesitate to contact The Secretary. New residents have been contacted prior to any verge work taking place.

Off Road Parking

Thanks to everyone for adhering to our Parking Principles and keeping the roads clear by parking off road. This makes the estate a much safer place for pedestrians and vehicles alike. If anyone is looking to develop their front garden to expand their parking then please discuss with, our Secretary, first as there is some simple paperwork to fill in before a licence can be issued and any work can proceed.
