“Felpham Fields”
Autumn Newsletter
Members of “Felpham Fields”.
Your Committee hope you are all well and hope that you have enjoyed a super summer.
Some information to update you all on in this edition:-
Felpham Fields Estate Traffic Control (Phase 1):- Ley Road new Signage.
The new agreed signage was installed Monday 6th October in line with the Plans we agreed at this years AGM. The volunteer working party of 5 residents installed the new permanent signs. In addition, new Temporary “Private Property Road Closed” signs were deployed whilst the works were taking place and for an experimental three hour period after the works had been completed. The results were very encouraging with cars heeding the request and not entering Ley Road whilst the work was being done. Indeed in the three hour experimental period the “Private Property Road Closed” signs were deployed, in excess of 20 cars bypassed Ley Road and only two non-Felpham Fields cars ignored the signs. Whilst the signs were deployed, Felpham Felds Residents had free access along with delivery vans who completed their deliveries, ie Next, Amazon and Sainsburys .
The current road works at the bottom of Summerly Lane is meaning that there is an increased volume of through traffic down Ley Road so we ask you all to help by spreading the word that we respectfully request non Felpham Fields Residents vehicles do not use Ley Road as a cut through.
Meanwhile, further deployment of the temporary signs will be implemented on an ad hoc basis at different times during the day ie School runs, commuting times, the purpose of this is to re-enforce the message to all local non-Felpham Fields residents that Ley Road is NOT a vehicular Public Right of Way.
Gutter Maintenance:-
A small workparty has completed the weeding of the estate gutters for this period and further work to clear two drains in Ley Road is being programmed in the coming weeks. If anyone has a need for the drain “spoil” for their gardens please contact me as otherwise it will be taken to the dump.
