2021 February Newsletter
Lockdown Grrrrr…….
Your Council all sincerely hope that you are all managing to battle through these troubled times and managing to stay away from the virus and are as healthy as can be given this rotten weather which doubly makes being lockedown all the more such a pain.
It is nice to hear however that so many of our “Felpham Fields” Membership are being called up for their vaccinations! Great news and it really looks like we are now on the final run in to see the back of these ongoing restrictions and heading towards hopefully the new norm which will see us back to some limited social interaction, something we all can’t wait for, when this is all over …………..ahhh
This month’s newsletter contains some important information for all to read and note.
Firstly:- We now have a Web Site www.felphamfields.co.uk that has now passed its first stage of development and is planned to be up and running by the time this Newsletter gets to you. This site will be an important asset to us all going forward and provide a wealth of documentation and information as well as a means of communicating news, projects, views and general Social Activity, but worry not, it will not completely replace the personal contact that each of your Directors and Road Reps offer, they remain your first port of call along with your Secretary for any queries or questions you may have. We are keen to launch the site which will grow and improve as it goes on so please come back to us if you have any ideas, additions or suggestions in any way! Check it out now on www.felphamfields.co.uk
Secondly:-We are starting to see residents begin their new year projects and with most of us chomping at the bit to get things done in some fine weather, we can’t wait to start to get gardening chores done with some sunshine on our backs rather than the rain and cold wind that currently persists. Now is also the time of year when residents start to plan to do house/building projects. If you are so inclined and are planning to undertake any projects that are likely to impact any of the “Felpham Fields” verges or access driveways then please remember that in some cases permissions my need to be granted by your Association before your work starts. Details of such work permissions can be found in the Members Handbook given to all residents last summer, but can also now be accessed on the New “Felpham Fields” Web Site www.felphamfields.co.uk . If anyone is in doubt then always feel free to give Keith our Secretary a call on 01243 829439 he will be happy to advise what needs to happen.
Thirdly:- “Felpham Fields” Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled to take place on Monday 29th March, 1800-2200 Felpham Memorial Hall. Clearly because of the current and likely further restrictions in social gatherings in the foreseeable future, it has meant that your Council have looked to provide an alternative means of delivering the content of the AGM to the Membership . The proposals on how this is planned to be done are in the final stages of agreement but will include the process on how to conduct business for the :-
Election of Council Officers (The Directors)
Agree Adoption of 2020/21 Accounts
Presentation of Estimated expenditure for FY 2021/22
Agree Proposed Fees Due for FY 2021/22
Agree Maintenance Work Schedule for 2021/22O
Open forum and Questions from the Membership.
This is massively counter the culture that your “Felpham Fields” Council want to adopt and we would much rather have everyone meet together, as was planned, to discuss the incredible progress we have all made in coming to this point since June 2020, but sadly in these special and unprecedented times we need special needs to deliver our promises to you all and as such we will have to conduct this years (our first) AGM in a special way.
As soon as we have the plans agreed on how we will deliver the AGM we will issue a separate notice of the AGM along with the necessary documentation to support (+ reports etc).
If anyone is considering joining the Council as a Director, there are currently vacancies, please contact your Secretary Keith Cowley who will provide information on how/when to apply.
Finally we sign off hoping you all stay fit and well,
Your “Felpham Fields” Council.
