October 2020 Newsletter
Dear “Felpham Fields” Member,
For those members that have registered an email address with the Secretary, this month’s Newsletter is being distributed via email which I hope people will appreciate is not only more convenient and cost effective in distribution and environmental costs but also safer than a hard copy delivery for all in these horrid covid times. Of course those that don’t have an email address or just wish to continue to receive a hard copy then this will continue.
As I write this month’s newsletter we are being told of the new LOCKDOWN and the arrangements which will be in place for the foreseeable future. With Christmas around the corner we can only hope that restrictions are relaxed in time for us all to celebrate with loved ones. What strange times we now live in!
Last month we reported that we had completed on the Purchase of our Roads, since then your committee have been hard at work preparing all the documents that underpin the Association and which will appear on our New Web Site which we are expecting to launch by the end of November (lockdown permitting).
Up until now with the “Rule of six” in place your committee have been able to hold face to face monthly Council meetings indoors, but with the new lockdown rules coming into force on Thursday 5th November this now means that we will not be able to hold meetings as normal. As per our Constitution which says we must meet every 6 weeks we will now be testing our ability to master technology and holding our meetings by video conference. That said, rest assured that we will continue to work very closely together and even in these unprecedented times we will make sure that all that needs to be done will be done to look after members interests and keep the Association Running effectively and efficiently.
As mentioned, it is planned to open up our Web Site by the end of November, the site which can be accessed by anyone via the link www.felphamfields.co.uk will give a great deal of information about Felpham Fields Residents Association Ltd including copies of minutes of our meetings, our Constitution, and our Articles of Association as a limited company by guarantee. It is hoped that going forward the website will become a key means of communicating what’s happening generally in “Felpham Fields” and we hope to include general Social news and events of interest.
If anyone has an item or a newsworthy topic which they think would be of benefit to other Felpham Fields members then please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Secretary Keith, who will endeavour to communicate out to the wider membership.
So finally, a message to everyone in these weird and not so wonderful times, please stay safe, and as winter draws in stay fit and healthy. If we can help anyone during these difficult times then just shout! Either to your Felpham Fields Rep (who delivers your newsletter) or contact our Secretary Keith, your committee will do whatever it can to assist, if it can’t it will endeavour to find someone that can.
Neighbourhood Watch Foot Note:-
It has just been brought to our notice that some shady characters have been caught on Camera trying to break into cars down Tryndel Way (on route to Ley Road) this was a very late night incident on November 1st which has been reported to the Neigbourhood Watch for onward reporting to the authorities. All Residents are again reminded to be vigilant and to ensure that cars are locked at all times and all valuables kept out of sight or indoors.
