SPRING NEWSLETTER

Members of “Felpham Fields”, Primavera greetings to you all.

Your Committee hope that you are all managing to wade through this thoroughly rotten wet and miserable weather. Let’s hope Spring is just around the corner and we get some respite very soon.

News this period focuses on some Very Important information that your committee need to bring to your URGENT attention.

City Fibre Network:- Request to provide infrastructure on “Felpham Fields”

Your committee have been approached by the Telecommunications Infrastructure company that is currently digging up the pathways and roads in and around Felpham. City Fibre Metro Networks Ltd have met with your Directors and have requested permission (Wayleave Agreement) to provide their network on the “Felpham Fields” estate.

Your Directors have since met, discussed in committee and studied the ramifications of the City Fibre Networks proposals and have agreed that the matter is of such significant importance, that the information needs to be shared with the general membership.

Your Committee are seeking membership support of the Directors recommendation NOT to give permission for City Fibre Networks to dig and provide underground (and above ground) telecommunication equipment on Felpham Fields.

A detailed rationale behind why your Directors have come to this conclusion is being documented and will be circulated (very soon) to all Residents for consideration with a Voting Form with three options:-

  1. Seeking Membership Agreement with the Directors decision and NOT to grant a Wayleave Agreement
  2. Request more information
  3. Disagreeing with the Directors decision and Grant City Fibre Networks a Wayleave Agreement and hence permission to dig.

Time is of the essence as City Fibre Networks are in the area, as can be seen with the current disruption on our roads and streets, and if the majority decided to allow and grant the Wayleave they would add the work to their current schedule. Normally an item of such importance would necessitate a face to face meeting, but it is hoped that the Information Note being prepared will give more than enough information on which Members can base judgement and make a decision and Vote.

Your Directors role is to maintain the Company assets to the highest standards possible and believe that to maintain the standards, this development proposal by City Fibre Networks should not be given permission to proceed.

We look for your support in this matter by Reading the Information Note shortly to be issued to all Residents and returning the voting form showing your wishes, by the date requested.

Road and Verge Maintenance: Project on hold pending improvements in the weather and ongoing discussions with  Portsmouth Water concerning original work completed 2002.
